Documents Required for Aadhar Card: Aadhaar is a 12 digit unique identification number issued by the UIDAI on behalf of the government to every resident of India. It is a biometric document that records your personal information in a government database. Aadhaar acts as a single identity document and does not replace PAN, passport, driving license or any other identity document. It is issued to residents of India on the basis of their biometric and demographic data.
Every resident can apply for an Aadhaar number under the Aadhaar Act, 2016. A resident is a person who has been residing in the country for 182 days or more in the year immediately preceding the date of application for enrollment.
